Good news for Adam House GP Practice

The government Care Quality Commission (CQC) inspected the Adam House medical Centre GP practice in April.  This was a detailed inspection over 4 days, and the CQC talked to many staff and thoroughly assessed the patient care, the administration and the premises.

The CQC assessed the practice as “Overall Good” and noted the many improvements since their last inspection in 2023.  Here is a direct quote from the CQC report. “Staffing had improved with the recruitment to additional salaried GPs, so there were enough staff with the right skills, qualifications and experience. Managers made sure staff received training and regular appraisals to maintain high-quality care. Staff managed medicines well and involved people in planning any changes.  The service had a good learning culture and people could raise concerns. Managers investigated incidents thoroughly. Staff understood and overall managed risk. The facilities and equipment met the needs of people, and were clean and well-maintained.”

The only criticisms made were around curtain cord safety and the tracking of prescription stationery.  All these issues have subsequently been resolved.

The CQC noted the new improved telephone answering system and the very positive recent survey of this new system performed by the Patient Participation Group. (PPG)

The senior partner GP Dr Ali said “the dedication of salaried doctors, nurses, pharmacist and other clinicians, administrators and receptionists, together with the overall leadership by the practice manager has improved our performance. We are very pleased with the results of this CQC inspection which demonstrates the hard work put in by all of the staff at Adam House and by the PPG.”
